Do you assist in planning out a timeline? What can you share about using time most effectively for best results?

A. Great question! lol 😜

I get asked this question A LOT & I do believe it's very important to plan the timing of your wedding day. This assists in keeping us all on the same page, ensuring all the must- have photos get checked off and your day flowing nicely!

Most couples love having a timeline that we lay out together during a call. I also type it up and make it look pretty too! So feel free to share it with all who need to know. It's a great reference for what's happening, with locations & times to be ready, as well as addresses & contact numbers.

Sometimes couples already created a timeline on their own or with their event planner which is great too! I just ask to review it together so that we can check that we have adequate time to cover everything.

If you would love a head start on your own or would like some tips & guidelines, you're in the right place!

Typical timeline

✨ 2 hours with the bride prior to leaving for first look or heading to your ceremony. Have your details handy, such as: your invitation, the rings, your dress & veil, shoes, flowers, jewelry & anything meaningful that you would like a picture of. During this time we can also capture fun photos with your bridesmaids in robes, throwing confetti or just fun candids of the mayhem while getting ready!

✨ 45-60 minutes with the groom. Nice to capture some of his details too. Things like bowtie/ tie, cufflinks, cool shoes, jacket, watch, jewelry, cologne & anything meaningful too! Also a great time to capture groomsmen just hanging out & doing their thing.

✨ 1 full hour of photos of just the two of you- whether in one chunk of time or broken up in increments of time- whatever works best!

✨30-45 minutes for photos with immediate families & all the combinations & group shots.

✨30-45 minutes for photos with bridal party & all the fun combinations.

Can I add hours to a package? How about upgrade to an album, the size, material or cover? Can you a create custom package?

A. For sure to all of it!

Lets set up a time to discuss your day in detail as well as go over the array of choices to better match your preferences and wedding day must have's. This way we can figure out how many hours you need to fully cover your day.

Books and albums can always be upgraded in size, image count, cover options like materials and colors. You can also select between square sizes and artsy rectangles for a cool panoramic effect upon opening your book. We use a modern premium quality lab that offers options like linen, distressed leather, suede and silk.
I personally love their color options like sage, honey, stone, slate, pewter and gray twill. Feel free to ask for more traditional colors too.

Lastly, please ask me to design a personalized package if what you see on here is different from what you need.
The package options on here are meant for my couples who like having less to ruminate on and love keeping things simple.
They were also designed to be easily modified and to add items in or take away things too!

Are you always the main shooter & does a second shooter come included?

A. Yes it's always me, Maria, as the main photographer & one of my amazingly talented second shooters This applies to all packages except for #intimate / #elopement where it is just me flying solo.

As of the past 2 years my favorite second shooter is the most amazingly artistic art student Alyssa! She has quite the vision and knowledge of playing with light- this is not only because she also happens to be my daughter! haha You can find her portfolio from the past few years under Portfolio too.

Many clients ask what the benefits are of adding on a candid or second shooter. There are many such as getting shots from other angles & artsy point of views. With two shooters capturing the same scene for example, one of us will capture wide angle/ landscape views and the other capture close-ups of expressions- happy tears, playfulness, romantic moments & everything in between. Also this cuts down shooting time down as more can be covered with two shooters which also equals 2x the amount of photos & more time celebrating + dance time for you two!

Do you also photograph babies, maternity shoots, family shoots and other special events?

A. Yes I do!
My main love has been documenting love & weddings, however I LOVE babies and especially love seeing my couples' babies as they grow their families! It's always an honor to be the first one to document babies' first photos and get to meet them.
I also love to document my couples' maternity shoots, and family shoots.

What is your turn over time for teasers, full set of edited images & designing/ printing books & albums?

A. I love sending a few teasers, about 25 haha, within 24- 48 hours.
( I have been known to send a few the night of if I don't have to be up early the next day & when possible- if my hubby isn't missing me to sleep - lol) .
A teaser slideshow set to music to view, save, share and post- 7-10 days.
Full set of edited images approximately 4 weeks from your wedding date.
For books & albums there are a 5 simple steps:
1. select your favorites right on your private site by clicking on the❤️ & create a favorite list
2. email this favorite list to me @ marialovephotography@gmail.com
3. the designing of your layout will be created in about 1- 3 weeks
Once ready, I email you a link to view the custom layout on a on line program where you get to view it virtually and even "turn" the pages. Here you can even type in notes, ask to make changes and approve the layout for the next step to print.
4. Upon your approval, your layout gets uploaded and sent to my pro printing lab.
5. 1- 2.5 weeks later- your book or album is now ready for pick up or delivery!

*note: All editing, designs & layouts are done in house- by yours truly. Being a bit of a perfectionist & delivering your images as I would hope for if they were my own is my goal. So during the highest points of wedding season add 1-2 weeks to above breakdown.

Do I have to order prints through you?

A. The one question that the answer is no! haha.

You get full rights to all your edited images to do as you please with. Want to share your library with your family & all your friends? By all means you can!
We do suggest using high quality labs as I find that sites like snapfish are pretty good. However I have been told the quality is not the same as from a high quality lab equipped to handle large files from full frame pro cameras. My suggestion is if you order from sites like snapfish, perhaps start with a smaller print or just 1 or 2 to test the quality to see if you love it first.
As a note- you can place orders for enlargements & prints directly from your private site with my pro lab with a few simple clicks. Family & friends wish for prints too? Simply add their emails to invite them to view & make purchases if they wish independently- no need to take orders, collect funds, or even make deliveries! They charge & deliver straight to the client too.

Do you shoot destination weddings?

A. Yes I do & I LOVE to travel. If I am open on your day- you can count me in!
I've traveled for engagement shoots for clients who wish they can have a destination wedding but just isn't an option.
